Medical Requirements

 

To become a Pilot an applicant should undergo Medical Exam requirements laid by D.G.C.A. Medical exam is based on following requirements a) physical and mental b) visual and colour perception and c) hearing.

An applicant for any class of Medical Assessment shall be free from:
a) any abnormality, congenital or acquired, or
b) any active, latent, acute or chronic disability, or
c) any wound, injury or sequelae from operation, or
d) any effect or side-effect of any prescribed or non-prescribed therapeutic medication taken.
such as would entail a degree of functional incapacity which is likely to interfere with the safe

Operation of an aircraft or with the safe performance of duties.

All applicants for a Class 1, 2 and 3 Medical Assessment shall undergo routine haematological investigation such as Hb, TLC, DLC and routine urine analysis, at the time of initial and renewal medical examinations. Also at initial medical examination radiography of the chest shall be done. Subsequent radiography of the chest will only be undertaken if clinically indicated.

Procedure For Initial Class I Medical Examination:-

Initial Class I Medical Examination can only be carried out at Airforce Central Medical Establishment, Subroto Park, Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi or at Institute of Aerospace Medicine, Vimanpura, Bangalore. Two things required to get yourself examine here are:-

1. Appointment Date. which you have to take from above mentioned centers.

2. Cockpit test Report. This certificate is issued by a CFI of a flying Club.

Procedure for Renewal Of Class I Medical :-

Class I Medical once done in New Delhi or Banalore can be renewed at the following mentioned centers. However there are few condition involved to get yourself Examine there.

1. The Air Force Central Medical Establishment, Subroto Park, Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi – 110 010.
2. Institute of Aero-space Medicine, Vimanpura, Bangalore-560 017, Karnataka.
3. Senior Medical Officer, Air Force Station, Kanpur-208 008, Uttar Pradesh.
4. Senior Medical Officer, Air Force Station, Lohegaon, Pune-411 032, Maharashtra.
5. Senior Medical Officer, Air Force Station, Begumpet, Hyderabad–500 011, Andhra Pradesh.
6. Senior Medical Officer, Air Force Station, Cotton Green, Mumbai-400 033, Maharashtra.  ph:
7. Senior Medical Officer, Air Force Station, Tambaram, Chennai-600 046, Tamilnadu.
8. Senior Medical Officer, Air Force Station, Barrackpore, Calcutta.
